Just pure vegan ingredients to moisturise and protect sensitive, delicate skin, for babies of all ages - top to bottom, cheeks to cheeks. Natraloe Baby Bubble Bath Hi guys! As I use my products that I ordered online from Faithful-to-Nature I'll be reviewing them for you. Today I'd like to tell you about Naturaloe baby bubble bath. I bought this for me, not for a baby (lol), as I wanted to try a natural bubble bath, one that won't leave my skin feeling dry and agitated. So I went with the least expensive option - and wow am I glad I got it! First off the scent is fantastic! Smells very orange blossomy (such a happy smell). Faithful-to-Nature only stock natural, organic, earth friendly / people friendly products - the kind that is safe for us and our environment, so using this kind of bubble bath appeases my inner organic freak. I couldn't wait to try it and had a bubble bath as soon as it was time (we have water restrictions so we can only use water after 6 p.m.). I squeezed such a tiny amount into my bath (it's much thicker than normal bubble bath, which pours out like water) - and I half expected it to be an inferior product where I'd have to use half the bottle to have a bubble bath. Guess what, just more than a teaspoon of bubble bath gel made a bath FULL of bubbles. I gave it some help too, but was supremely satisfied with the result. It foamed beautifully, smelled fantastic, and only has these 4 ingredients: Glycerine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil. Usually a bath dries my skin out, this didn't. In fact it seemed to make the water feel softer. Alas if you use an oil it will make the bubbles disappear (but that happens with normal bubble bath too). I had coconut oil in my hair and as soon as I washed my hair the bubbles vanished. But I like this stuff SO much that I decided to experiment with it. I used it as a shampoo and it works fantastically! It is just like normal shampoo, just better! And I've now put some in a hand dispenser to wash hands with at the basin too. Seriously, this product is addictive and a little REALLY goes a long way. As part of my daily gratitude, finding this product will make me grateful every time I use it. It's so versatile, and makes me so happy knowing I can have my bubble bath fix without worrying about what kind of chemicals I'm soaking my body in or flushing away into the water system. I went to Wikipedia to research the cocamidopropyl for you (made from coconuts), so here I'm copying and pasting: Cocamidopropyl betaine is used as a foam booster in shampoos.[2] It is a medium strength surfactant also used in bath products like hand soaps. It is also used in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent and thickener, and to reduce irritation purely ionic surfactants would cause. It also serves as an antistatic agent in hair conditioners. which most often does not irritate skin or mucous membranes. However, some studies indicate it is an allergen.[3][4][5] It also has antiseptic properties, making it suitable for personal sanitary products. It is compatible with other cationic, anionic, and nonionic surfactants. CAPB is obtained as an aqueous solution in concentrations of about 30%. Glycerine is a simple sugar alcohol compound made from plant oils - and is 100% non-toxic. I then went to research CAPB (cocamidopropyl betaine) myself (using medical & scientific journals), and can quote this for you: The vast majority of positive reactions to CAPB are presumably false positive. Allergic reactions are very rare. This would support the notion of CAPB being ‘not a significant skin sensitizer’, in line with current classification systems. That is from the scientific paper: Is cocamidopropyl betaine a contact allergen? Analysis of network data and short review of the literature Overall I love this product and recommend it for your home too. Use it as a shampoo, handwash, and bubble bath - with my hard water it was magnificent! I tried using castile soap for handwash and it really doesn't work with my hard water (now glad I didn't buy the bulk version). Anyway, that's my product review for you. This ranks as a BEST BUY for this year! Highly recommended! Over the last month or two I've been harvesting my corn at different stages of development. to store frozen sweetcorn means picking the corn early (as soon as the silk is all pollinated and gone brown, and the cob feels full of kernels). Today was the final day of corn harvest in my yard, and I was delighted to still find fresh and succulent corn on the cob (which I removed by hand off the cob to freeze - to add to salads). I've already got bloody butcher corn in the sweet stage, blanched, cut off the cob, creamed, and frozen for sweet corn to add to risotto, stir fry, and soups. Some corn isn't as plump as it could be, and those cobs I'll dry and use to make cornflour. But today the biggest smile happened when I opened my blue popcorn! It's a small cob, but it's SO pretty! My strawberry popcorn is already harvested and dry (it dries so quickly), and I now have some bloody butcher corn ready to dry for next year's seed - (these are all heirloom varieties which are GMO free) Readying for winter we pruned the bay tree, guava tree, and cut down a weed tree - making more kindling, mulch, and firewood for winter, which inspired me to make an outdoors fire pit this weekend too. Nothing is better than sitting around a hot fire in the crisp darkness of winter, cooking in the great outdoors while also staying warm. I even boiled my water for coffee last night right on the fire. Gratitude come sin many forms, and my garden is an endless source of gratitude for me. It keeps me living in the moment, in the present, and living entrenched in every season. Take a look at the photos below to see what happened in my yard this weekend. All these seeds came from Livingseeds heirloom seed supplier. I remember learning about the snail in school, eyes on sticks, slow meandering spiral. I remember going home to look for snails in the garden, but mom told me I wouldn’t find any because she ensures that they do not eat her plants. Right. They do. Pity.
The years went by and I forgot all about the anatomy of a snail, until the day I stood in class and taught my own children about the meandering spiral. I home-schooled my kids and we went out into the garden to find us some snails. It was quite a search, but we came across a few and hunkered in the foliage to watch how they move. The reason I am sharing this with you isn’t because of what a snail is able to do to a plant, or about its anatomy; the reason is about magic. We were entranced, sitting there in dappled sunlight watching these slow creatures, eyes on sticks wafting about. They were so precise in their movements, yet casual, and they seemed complete in themselves, little magical moving shells carefully watching their surroundings. Today I smile about this and I know you will too. To date, I haven’t again killed a snail and neither have my kids (they are adults now). I am aware of the damage a snail can cause, but there are other ways of discouraging them. To me they remain magical and every time I see one I am reminded of that time in a garden somewhere, the day we were entranced together. This is why I smile, it is a beautiful memory. Gratitude is infused with a whole galaxy of happy. Fuzzy warm feelings boost the immune system, make you smile, and inject joie de virvre and excitement into your day. Yesterday I was so emotionally touched by the receiving of post (yay the post office worked - gratitude!), where two friends sent me gifts. From Scotland I received a handmade angel from Jill. She's a whizz with her crochet needle and I love watching her creations posted to Facebook (she makes the teeniest tiniest teddy bears which are SO darn cute!). With my angel (to watch over me and give me an unlimited supply of love) came a wonderful card, so well written and deeply touching, that I instantly recalled why I love reading Jill's novels (she's an author too!). I love her books so much! She has such a way with words that I hope she never stops writing. Jill, thank you so much for my amazing angel! I LOVE HER! You can read Jill's novels if you do a search for her pen name, Lucy Pepperdine. My favourite book of hers is In The Garden of Stones. It was the best novel I read last year! My other post came from Germany! I was so excited to receive this! This is a novel by Richard Rhys Jones (love his work! If you haven't heard of him, well now you have!). This is a signed copy of his new release with Ravenous RoadKill publishers. This novel was sent to me from Germany, and in the usual African way I waited months to receive it (the sorting center works in retrograde pace, so it usually takes 4 months to get your post even if it arrived in a fortnight to the sorting center) - but for some reason after months of apparently being here (no notification from the post office, or putting it in the postbox) - it got sent back to Germany! He contacted me to let me know, and to ask why the paperback was returned. Lol, what do I know?
Well being a tenacious man, he posted it AGAIN! And I got it! Yesterday!!! I am SO excited to read this book! Thank you so much to the Reg (it's what I call him), and his partners at the publisher's for an amazing gift! Take a look at Mr Jones' novels on Amazon. You guys have filled my day with so much gratitude and happy! Friends who care about you fill your existence with love, and they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. Yay for friends! My friends (and my health) are definitely my wealth!. This is a BIG reason for gratitude! Count your gratitude daily, twice a day, three times a day, because it keeps the Good stuff happening for you. It's such an exciting day for me today. On Friday I ordered some organic and all natural products from Faithful-to-Nature. In my loot bag I ordered Fancy Pants soap nuts (natural tree based saponin. It only takes 3 soap nuts to wash a load of laundry - without harmful chemicals! At the rate that I wash laundry one bag of soap nuts will last me a whole year! (90-100 washes in just one bag). At just R105 for a bag of soap nuts, this has to be the most economical purchase I've made this year.
I also ordered products to make my own lip balm and hand cream. Shea butter by PureSimple, beeswax, Soil argan oil (for my nails), winter socks for me and hubby, bubble bath, bamboo baby wipes, castile soap (to make our own handwash, body wash, and bubble bath), and I ordered Enchantrix laundry softener, but alas I received their liquid laundry cleaner instead (but we're working on fixing this). I've supported Enchantrix for many many years, they are a fabulous crowd in Cape Town who stock everything from natural and safe toilet cleaners to pet shampoo! If you haven't tried their products, go to the Faithful to Nature website and look at their range! I use Faithful-to-nature because they offer free delivery for any order over R350. (so does my heirloom seed supplier Livingseeds - fyi). My heart is full of gratitude, and I'm pumped with excitement! Thank you to Faithful to Nature for my speedy delivery (I ordered this on Friday and received it on Monday morning), the hand written notes on the invoices!!! (LOVE THAT!), and the free samples. I am so chuffed! You guys ROCK! Watch this blog for upcoming home made creams and handwashes using these ingredients! Over the wet summer months I've captured a lot of mushrooms growing in the yard. These have all made me smile. Mushrooms break down wood, and yet they always seem so magical. |
