I wear many hats: wife, mother, friend, homesteader, kitchen gardener, crafter, knitter, sewer, cook, hugger, blogger, writer, book reviewer, tree hugger, anti-cruelty advocate, organic addicts, and gratitude ambassadors.
This started for me in March 2015. I ran into a major letdown and to pick myself up I started a weekly gratitude email with a friend. I'm not religious, but I am spiritual. Many sages have said: what you focus on grows. Science backs this up - when we focus on something - energy responds to 'our will' - (being our focus). You can read about that HERE.
And here's a quote from the science:
In a study reported in the February 26 issue of Nature (Vol. 391, pp. 871-874), researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science have now conducted a highly controlled experiment demonstrating how a beam of electrons is affected by the act of being observed. The experiment revealed that the greater the amount of "watching," the greater the observer's influence on what actually takes place.
For me, I'd started to focus on gratitude. At the time I was so severely depressed I was aimless, I'd lost focus and zest for life, so it started with baby steps. At first it was just sharing gratitude for the morning cup of coffee, for rain when it was dry, for sun when everything was wet, for my furry animal companions who always give me a reason to smile, and on friendship. It wasn't a good time for me, and when life is so dark it's hard to find your smile. I had to do something, so I started with a kernel of gratitude.
May your thoughts always be happy, and your heart full of gratitude
